In the cult classic film “Snatch,” one character I have always loved is Tyrone. Superbly acted by Ade, Tyrone’s portrayal brings laughter to audiences every time. His role as Sol and Vinny’s criminal associate adds a unique blend of humour to the fast-paced crime-filled storyline.

Tyrone, an obese and unathletic getaway driver, may not seem like the ideal choice for such a crucial role, and he wasn’t! His appearance gives initial doubts to the viewers and does in fact, turn out to be incredibly incompetent, causing mayhem and problems rather than being a helpful partner in crime.

Throughout the film, Tyrone’s antics and comedic timing keep us laughing. Although he was only in a few scenes, they were all memorable.

Tyrone: I don’t want that dog dribbling on my seats.
Vinny: Your seats? Tyrone, this is a stolen car, mate.

Sol, Vinny and Tyrone in Snatch

One of the most comical scenes is when Tyrone accidentally backs into Franky Four Fingers’ van, leading to Vinny’s exasperated comment about the four-ton truck. Tyrone’s innocence and obliviousness to the situation add to the hilarity, making it an unforgettable moment in the film.

Tyrone: I didn’t see it there.
Vinny: It’s a four-ton truck, Tyrone. Its not as if it’s a packet of f*cking peanuts, is it?
Tyrone: It was a funny angle. [All three turn and look back at the truck]
Vinny: It’s behind you Tyrone. Whenever you reverse, things come from behind you.

While watching Tyrone in action, I couldn’t help but think that a spin-off series focused on his character with his partners Sol and Vinny involved too, would be an absolute treat. A crime comedy series featuring Tyrone’s misadventures would undoubtedly be worth watching, providing us with more of his side-splitting humour and unforgettable escapades.

I would love to have seen Vinny, Tyrone and Sol in a spin-off series

As the plot unfolds, Tyrone finds himself entangled in a series of mishaps and misfortunes, adding more comedic elements to the already captivating story. From the wild chase with Brick Top’s crew to the chaotic encounters with Cousin Avi and Bullet Tooth Tony, Tyrone’s journey is filled with laughter and excitement.

Despite his comedic nature, Tyrone also exhibits moments of vulnerability and genuine friendship with his fellow criminals. His loyalty and willingness to face danger for his friends add depth to his character, making him more endearing to the audience.

In the end, we are left wondering about Tyrone’s fate. The film doesn’t provide a definitive answer, leaving it open to our imagination. Regardless of what happens next, there’s no denying that Tyrone’s presence in “Snatch” has left a lasting impression on viewers.

So there is your brief reminder of the great Tyrone from “Snatch”. Ade’s exceptional performance brings this character to life, making us laugh with every scene. His hilarious quotes, combined with his unique personality, create a character that has become an iconic part of an iconic film.
