Caught amidst an everyday grind far away from the showbiz shimmers, the Sugababes revealed the ‘normal jobs’ they hustled while dodging the celebrity limelight! The trio, who experienced a riveting reunion for a rocking comeback tour last year, found themselves in the throes of an all-out war for record labels, nearly a quarter-century after they first formed.

In a tell-all, no-holds-barred interview, Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhán Donaghy spilled the beans on their ‘hard knock life’ post-band breakup.

Siobhán, the first to fly the coop in 2001, ditched her solo singing pursuit to clock in at a ‘normal job.’ “I played the model booker for a whopping six years and then ventured into Edinburgh’s property market,” she spilt to The Sun. “I bloomed as a model booker, felt like it was my true calling, absolutely loved every bit of it.”

Mutya confessed her bandmate’s switch to an everyday gig was a blessing she wasn’t privy to. She blurted out, “Being in the industry since the tender age of 14, I had no other option. Couldn’t even switch careers because my face was too familiar.”

The trio stormed back under Mutya Keisha Siobhan’s banner in 2012, while battling their previous record label over the Sugababes moniker, which they eventually reclaimed in 2019.

Keisha laid bare her struggles as she declared her ‘first job’ as a Sugababe and her subsequent ousting in 2009. A year and a half later, she joined forces with Mutya and Siobhán to form MKS, holding their fort for ten years while they battled to regain their original name.

“We’ve literally been in the trenches, and our journey has transformed me completely. Watching us now must be like salt on the wound for those who wanted us to fail. But we also know things can change in a heartbeat,” she added with a smirk.

The newly reunited Sugababes surprised Londoners on Wednesday with a pop-up performance near Tower Bridge to celebrate the launch of Ladbrokes LIVE.

Teaming up with Ladbrokes, they belted out their chart-toppers including ‘Round Round’ and ‘Push the Button’ for a lucky crowd of 500. But, the surprises didn’t stop there! The girls gave away 1,000 free tickets from a Ladbrokes LIVE pop-up booth for their upcoming show at The O2 in September, and All Points East.

Ecstatic about their recent stunt, the Sugababes said, “It was fantastic to celebrate the launch of Ladbrokes LIVE with a surprise gig for our fans by the iconic Tower Bridge.”
